Dethatching your lawn will benefit the health of your lawn,

Thatch is made up of all the discharge from your lawn clippings, debris blown in from other lawns, stems an branches. if you have too much thatch it can become so thick that te water, nutrients and air can not reach the soil and it can take its toll on the lawn.
